Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On this Easter Sunday the risen Lord invites us all to celebrate the new life that he brings to each person across the world - we are saved, healed and strengthened as disciples. The Church guides us during this Holy Season to have confidence in sharing the Good News with those around us. We do this in so many different ways through our loving words and actions. By bringing others to a knowledge of Christ, we ourselves are renewed in understanding who Jesus really was and the positive influence that he can have upon our daily lives.

I would like to congratulate you all on your new bulletin which serves the Partnership parishes in Consett. You share and do so much as a group of parishes in building up God’s Kingdom. I hope and pray that a lot of what you do will always help those on the margins of your communities to see the beauty of believing and following the ways of the Lord. The Easter call to be disciples for one another will be greatly helped by news items in the bulletin. Whether you are asked to pray for others, invited to come along to a meeting or encouraged to serve others in a particular way, the Lord’s work continues to be done. I wish you continued strength in all that you do as living stones of the Church.
Wishing you all a very joyful and blessed time this Easter.

He is reminding us that whatever else is going on in the world or in our lives we are first and foremost God’s chosen people, set apart for a special task.
